In Loving Memory of our Virginia Granny...

We were so blessed that when we moved to Virginia God took care of everything for us...He provided for us in ways we never imagined...He blessed us with neighbors that are great. Ms. Page and her daughter Wynn live right next door to us...I remember the first week we moved her Ms. Page drove up our driveway to introduce herself to us...she had wanted to come and meet us but wasn't able to walk that far, so that day as she left for the grocery store she thought she would pull in...we thank God each day that she did. She is the most loving and amazing women. She radiates of God's love. This was the first of many drives up our driveway and many walks to her house as we began to adopt her as our 'Virginia Granny" and we began this tradition of baking and sharing the goodies with each other...if we baked we took some to Ms. Page and Wynn..if she baked she would send Wynn over with the goodies...then she began to invite the kids over for Ice Cream cones...they just loved that...she made huge ice cream cones and as they were almost finished she would say " Oh..looks like you need more"... God truly created a special friendship. The day she walked over here with her walker to check on us, as that morning the ambulance had been here for Gabriel...I knew God had made her apart of our family!
We were extremely sadden...this week as she went home to be with the Lord. After much prayer...here is what God showed me...
1. Ms. Page suffered a stroke and then began to not be able to use any of her life functions..so at her request she was not put on any life saving devices. She came home and the doctors said it could be 2 hours to 2 weeks she would live for...God loved her so much and honored her lifelong commitment to Him that he let her hang on only long enough for the family to gather and say their good byes..He did not let it drag on for her or her family. He loved her and desired to quickly come for her....Our God is truly AMAZING!
2. Ms. Page was a great example of a Godly women and that I should strive to be more like her..that when I should pass and go home to heaven that all that would be left to say about me was that I loved the Lord my God with all my heart and soul..those are the things that are left behind about Ms. Page....it reminds me of my very favorite song right now.....
John Waller - The Blessing
Chorus:Let it be said of us While we walked among the living Let it be said of us By the ones we leave behind Let it be said of us That we lived to be a blessing for life Let it be said of us That we gave to reach the dying Let it be said of us By the fruit we leave behind Let it be said of us That our legacy is blessing for life This day You set life, you set death right before us, This day Every blessing and curse is a choice now And we will choose to be a blessing for life Let it be said of us That our hearts belonged to Jesus Let it be said of us That we spoke the words of life Let it be said of us That our heritage is blessing for life For your Kingdom, for our Children For the sake of every nation
Those are the things said of Ms.Page....below is a link to her obituary..normally I wouldn't do this..but I just was so touched by the things that were said of her!
Ms. Page..we will forever remember your love given to our family! You will be greatly missed! I look forward to when we meet again! Enjoy being in the Presence of the Lord!
